The FinTech industry is humming along. Deal flow just about everywhere is up, up, up. The Frankfurt scene is also humming, with incubators, lots of venture capitalists, its first "Accelerator" and just about every school here retooling its curriculum and programs to join the throng.

But despite all the excitement - obvious to any newcomer who dips their feet into the scene (and the Meetup app is a good way to do that), an obvious question jumps to mind.

Where are all the women?

We are 50% of the population. You don't need to code to jump in, have an idea, certainly use mobile technology, and therefore be just as qualified as many men on the scene.

Over the summer I also had the great luck to meet Jochen Biedermann, of Frankfurt Main Finance, and we began kicking around ideas. Thanks to his generous sponsorship of space and a nibblies budget, I decided to take the plunge and see how popular this idea will be here.

So far our Meetup Page is gaining members daily. That is also why I decided to start this website. It is a resource for the community - to meet, greet and network - and of course to encourage women (and men who support them) to put a little more femme into FinTech. Join us on September 19 for our kickoff meeting and let's see where it can go!
